I am also very proud of my Uncle Les. In his younger days he was a talented local footballer, in Winchester. A few years ago he told me of his very lucky escape, post 'D Day', when a German shell penetrated the front armour of his 'searchlight tank', passing between him and the tank driver. He was very lucky to escape before the tank caught fire and exploded. We didn't meet very often but I will always have fond memories of him. RIP, Uncle Les.
