Helen 1st August 2017

This donation is made in memory of Grandad who chose to serve in the tank regiment in WWII as he thought he'd be safer than a foot soldier. He survived a shell piercing the armour and destroying the tank. We never really knew what he went through until recent years when he was finally able to talk about his experience. To us he was Grandad, carpenter, footballer and toy maker, always bouncing us on his knee singing: A diddle ump a deedle ump A deedle ump a day A diddle ump a deedle ump A deedle ump a day Doh! Rest now Grandad Love Always Helen xxxx and Mark
